Dr. Ofer Dafna

Today, he is part of the cataract and cornea surgical team at Assuta Hospital. He completed a cornea fellowship at Beilinson Hospital, where he performed corneal transplants and complex anterior segment surgery. He completed his residency in the Department of Ophthalmology at Kaplan Medical Center, where he served as a senior physician. His work focused mainly on patients with retinal diseases, cataract and glaucoma. He has also completed courses and training with leading experts in laser vision correction through the ESCRS.

At the medical center, which is affiliated with the Hebrew University, he taught ophthalmology to medical students and trained and taught residents in cataract surgery.

Dr. Ofer Daphna is an entrepreneur who holds several patents in ophthalmology. He founded and serves on the board of directors of EyeYon Medical, an ophthalmic start-up developing unique treatments for corneal edema.

Dr. Ofer Daphna regularly attends international conferences where physicians are introduced to the latest technologies. He exchanges ideas, medical techniques and surgical methods with the world’s leading centers in the field, and received recognition from the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons for his research on an artificial corneal implant.
